Canoes - Molitor 17 |

Wood and canvas canoes first appeared in the late 1800s, gaining favor as a more durable, lower-maintenance alternative to the Native American birch bark designs. While their rich history dates back over a century, they are hardly a thing of the past. Our classic Old Town wooden canoes are still hand-crafted on the same forms that have been used for generations. We are proud of this heritage and how it defines us. As with any made to order hand-crafted work of art, our wooden canoes take time, but the legacy is worth the wait. Long deck, outside stem and oval cypress gunwales create a frame so strong no thwart is needed. It's easy to see the romance in this original "courting" canoe. N.B. This model available on special request only. |
